The third eye, scientifically known as the “pineal gland”, is a portal to inter-depth of consciousness, mindfulness, innate wisdom from the Universe, and a sixth sense!
Unfortunately, if you’re not eating the right foods, or if you live in a toxic environment, your third eye will inevitably become blocked.
Pineal gland calcification (the term used to describe a blocked third eye) is common in adults, with an estimated 40% of cases occurring at 17 years of age.
Fortunately, because there are plenty of different foods that you can eat to detox the pineal gland and restore it to its full potential.
In this article, I will specifically discuss 11 cleansing foods for maintaining optimum third eye health.
What is the Function of the Pineal Gland (Third Eye)?

If you’ve ever felt a vibrating sensation in-between your eyebrows, there’s a good chance that your third eye is already open.
The third eye is the sixth out of seven chakras that control the body, mind, and spirit.
Although you cannot see the pineal gland quite like your other two eyes, it is one of your most powerful tools for understanding your role in the Universe.
Shaped like a small soy bean, the pineal gland is an endocrine gland that produces serotonin-derived hormones called ‘melatonin’ that regulate normal sleep patterns.
Beyond its sleep-regulating capabilities, the third eye also produces and regulates female hormones that influence fertility and menstrual cycle.
From a spiritual perspective, the pineal gland serves as a portal to the cosmos. By opening your third eye, you can elevate to higher realms of consciousness and attain enlightenment.
What are the Signs And Causes of a Blocked Third Eye?

Poor focus, concentration, and clarity are three major signs that your third eye is blocked. Since the third eye affects our intuition, you may struggle to make decisions if yours is blocked.
Difficulty sleeping, light sensitivity, blurred vision, frequent headaches, and forehead tension are some other signs that your third eye is closed. However, it’s crucial to consult with a doctor if these symptoms are ongoing, as they may indicate an underlying medical condition.
A blocked third eye chakra can also leave you feeling depressed and disconnected from your higher self. If you feel lost and unable to connect with your inner world, it’s probably time to detox and decalcify your pineal gland. After all, the third eye is the “compass” guiding you home.
The primary causes of a blocked third eye include environmental factors and medical conditions. One of the most common reasons for pineal gland calcification is toxic fluoride build-up. Fluoride is frequently found in toothpaste, tap water, and processed foods.
How to Decalcify the Pineal Gland with Foods

We should always be eating the correct foods to activate our chakras. This basically means that we should be selecting foods that represent the colors of each chakra, not to mention eat a balanced diet that blends a range of carbohydrates, protein etc.
When it comes to unblocking the third eye, you will be dealing with the third eye chakra. The third eye chakra is a deep navy and indigo color, so any foods of this color are the perfect choice for decalcifying the pineal gland!
To support the health of your third eye chakra, eat plenty of raw, organic, and unprocessed foods that are dark blue or purplish in color, such as blue-green algae, eggplant, plums, grapes, and chlorophyll-rich foods like kale, broccoli, spirulina, and green beans.
You don’t have to limit yourself to foods of this color, however.
According to a study published by Researchgate, some of the following foods are highly effective for decalcifying the pineal gland and restoring it to optimum function:
- Chaga Mushroom – This special mushroom is known as the”third eye activator”. Chaga mushrooms help support the central nervous system and immune system. The strong antioxidant and anti-viral mushroom also promotes melatonin production from the pineal gland.
- Tamarind – Tamarind and its leaves may alleviate third eye blockage symptoms by increasing fluoride excretion from the body. A specific compound contained in tamarind is also capable of removing fluoride from water.
- Turmeric – The active ingredient found in this herbal medicine is curcumin, which is a natural neuroprotectant that has been scientifically proven to reverse the damaging effects of fluoride toxicity.
- Radishes – Radishes contain a generous amount of fulvic acid, which is often used as a powerful detoxifying and decalcifying agent for the third eye. Fulvic acid also assists in flushing the body of heavy metals.
- Carrots – They say carrots are good for the eyes, but what about the third eye? Another potent source of fulvic acid, carrots are a favorable solution for detoxing the whole body and eradicating heavy metals that block the third eye.
- Beets – Beets help support the third eye chakra by ridding the body of toxins. This natural purple food contains fulvic acid, as well as plenty of antioxidants and vitamins.
- Apple Cider Vinegar – Raw apple cider vinegar contains a high content of malic acid, which is useful for detoxifying the entire body. It is excellent as a daily aid for banishing heavy metals that cause pineal gland calcification.
- Goji Berries – These flavorful berries stimulate the endocrine system, repairing and regenerating every gland in the body, including the pineal gland. - Seaweed – Rich in antioxidants, seaweed is loaded with iodine. Nori, kombu, and wakame are some of the most potent food sources of iodine, which decalcifies the pineal gland by banishing heavy metals and fluoride from the brain and body.
- Shilajit – This Ayurvedic herb is a natural substance found mostly in the Himalayas. A safe dietary supplement, Shilajit is an effective antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that is renowned for supporting third eye activation, improving spiritual awareness, and balancing the chakras.
- Raw Cacao – This sacred beverage specifically nourishes the pineal gland, while helping you to connect with your heart, maintain healthy blood pressure, and enhance cognitive function.
Eliminate certain foods and environmental factors that increase the risk of pineal gland calcification, such as restricting consumption of processed foods and foods tainted with excess fluoride and calcium.

If you’re concerned about the fluoride contained in tap water, consider installing a water filter for your shower.
It goes without saying that you should not be drinking tap water, no matter where you are in the world. Bottled water sourced from fresh springs are ideal for cleansing the pineal gland and raising your spiritual vibration.
Be cautious of the content you consume on social media, and refrain from listening to low-vibrational music, since this can also block the third eye.
